COMING UP...

A smash hit in the West End, Rickmansworth Players are proud to be staging the critically acclaimed and award winning play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-timeadapted by Simon Stephens and based on the novel by Mark Haddon, at the Pump House Watford from the 7th to 11th May 2024.

Join us as we enter the curious mind of Christopher Boone. He has an extraordinary brain - exceptional at maths, however he struggles to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion of killing Mrs Shears' dog Wellington, he starts investigating and writing a book about the events in order to solve the mystery of the murder. But his detective work, forbidden by his father, takes him on a frightening journey that tears apart his once familiar world.

Directed by Victoria Flowers, the play features a strong focus on projection, lighting, sound and physical theatre to bring to life both the detective story and Christopher’s experiences and state of mind.

We are also pleased to be able to offer a ‘relaxed performance’ at the matinee on Friday 10th May, where elements of the play will be adapted to make it more welcoming to audience members who may find the full performance overwhelming or stressful. This will include reducing the lighting and sound effects, having the house lights up slightly and the house doors open.

Please note that the play is recommended for audience members age 12 +, due to language and content.

NODA nominated Rickmansworth Players Youth Theatre are excited to announce that the Junior Theatre will be performing Matilda the Musical Jnr. in the society’s 80th anniversary year, at Croxley Danes School from 28th to 30th June.
